 The Red Deer have a long heritage dating back over 40,000 years with numerous European caves in which Red Stag have been depicted. The species were introduced into New Zealand and subsequently thrived producing large antlered deer. The Red Stag is known for its massive size, scoring from 230 to over 400. These animals are thought to be the most beautiful antlered deer in the world.
At Hunter Ridge Ranch, you can experience the sport of kings when you harvest this magnificent trophy. Our Red Deer are known for their large crown. Red Stag are especially challenging because they are constantly on alert for predators and are usually only seen in low light. Just like elk, these deer provide tasty and low fat meat.
