Fallow Deer Print E-mail
DSC_0122The Fallow Deer is native to Europe. They were spread across Europe by the Romans. The Fallow Deer were first introduced into southern England in the first century AD. They range in size from small to medium. The bucks are known for their impressive palmate antlers. These deer have three color phases: white, chocolate, and spotted. Fallow Deer are active throughout a 24-hour period but usually make more use of open spaces during the hours of darkness.

Although the Fallow Deer is one of our smaller deer, they compensate for it with their impressive racks. At Hunter Ridge Ranch, you can harvest one of these remarkable palmate mounts with a lot of points. They win the trophy prize for the largest antlers in the world per body weight. They also make for a challenging hunt due to their excellent vision, hearing, and olfaction. Please contact us for prices.
